Llangors, Aberhonddu

Earlier in March, Duncan and I took a long weekend trip to Llangorse near Brecon. Seems a bit weird staying somewhere so close to home! But it was awesome weather and we we explored lots of places I’d never been to before.

Pwll y Wrach – Witches Pool at Talgarth

So according to Wiki it’s thought that women accused of being witches were ‘ducked’ in the pool which is how it got its name – doesn’t seem so scenic now….

Hay On Wye

We went to Hay which was weirdly grim and quiet like a seaside town out of season. Super pretty though, and there was an AMAZING map shop selling antique original hand drawn maps, hundreds of years old (and hundreds of pounds! Not for book making!) I would have taken photos but I think I probably would have been told off. I was in there for AGES.

The Crannog

Everything in Llangorse was shut due to it not being summer yet I assume, so we didn’t get to look inside the Crannog – which is an ancient house on the lake.
